Abstract

Anatomical observations on the male reproductive system of H. vigintioctopunctata (F.) revealed that it consists of a pair of rosette shaped testis, vasa deferentia and median ejaculatory duct terminating into sclerotized aedeagus. Three pairs of accessory glands are associated with the system.

Histological observations indicated that the prepupal testis contains predominatly the spermatocytes. Mature pupal testis contains all the stages of spermatogenesis. Adult testis differs from that of mature pupa in having more of mature sperm bundles.
