Abstract

Green manures (bajra, dhaincha & sun-hemp), FYM, organic wastes (paddy straw, gram straw, mustard straw and sugarcane trash), mustard cake and tuber treatment with Aretan-6 were evaluated for their efficacy in controlling the disease. Tuber treatment with Aretan-6 alone or in combination with green manures, FYM and organic wastes was the best in reducing black scurf of potato over all other treatments and combinations under study. Green manures did not reduce the disease level significantly. Both FYM and green manures reduced the efficacy of Aratan-6 considerably. Among the organic matters significant reduction in disease was found by mustard straw and iram straw.
