Abstract

Studies conducted at nine locations of West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh during 1979–80 revealed 8.7 to 31.2% Potato seed decay in whole tuber and 16.4 to 43.9% in cut tuber plantings. Erwinia carotovora, Fusarium solani and Rhizoctonia solani were mainly responsible for this decay. However, mixed infection by F. oxysporum, Aspergillus and Penicilium spp. in combination with above pathogens contributed 3.8 and 7.0% seed decay in whole and cut tuber plantings, respectively.
