Response of potato to graded doses of nitrogen phosphorus and potassium on alluval and black cotton soils

Abstract

Potato gave highly significant response to nitrogen application in alluvial as well as black cotton soils. The response was more when Bitrogen was applied along with prosphorus and potassium. The highest tuber yield was obtained by the balanced application of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The best combination was 180 kg N, 44 kg P and 84 kg K/ha at Jalandhar and Patna and 120 kg N, 44 kg P and 84 kg K/ha at Babugarh. In black cotton soils at Rajgurunagar 120 kg N, 44 kg P and 84 kg K/ha was the best fertilizer dose for rabi potato and 120 kg N, 44 kg P for kharif potato.
