The paper describes techniques for preparing a ranking list of core Indian periodicals in their coverage of potato literature. Five methods i.e. Bradford's law of scattering, citations frequency, coverage in indexing-abstracts services, readers' opinion-use studies, and library borrowers' use record were analysed for this study. As a result, 117 Indian periodicals have been enlisted in the ranked list. The first 71 periodicals are considered as core periodicals; from these scientists had accessed to 90.7 per cent of the published literature on potatoes.
