Abstract

Effects of PVX infection on tbe biochemical composition of Capsicum pendulum Willd plants were investigated. The virus infection considerably reduced chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll content of the plants. It also decreased the amount of reducing and non-reducing sugars and the starch content. However, the protein content of virus infected plants increased appreciably as compared to the control.
