An experiment in split plot design, with three potato based cropping systems viz., potato-wheat-okra, potato-onion-cowpea and potato-tomato-sorghum in main plots and 4 fertility levels (0, 75, 100 and 125% of the recommended doses), in sub plots, was conducted during 1982–83 and 1983–84 on sandy loam soils of Hisar. Yield of all the crops grown increased with the application of fertilizers, Addition of fertilizers upto the recommended doses was more beneficial in tomato, wheat and potato where as in onion, cowpea, sorghum and okra the benefit increased upto 125% of the recommended doses. Potato yield Was highest in potato-wheat-okra system followed by potato-onion-cowpea aod potato-tomato-sorghum in order. Maximum net income of Rs. 17,335/ha was, however, obtained from potato-tomato-sorghum system.
