During the years 1975–1985 observations were made on potatoes in the principal producing areas on the main island of Sri Lanka (Ceylon). Most of the pathogens and pests recorded had been previously reported, except for the fungi Choanephora cucurbitarum (Berk. & Rav.) Thaxter, Fusarium oxysporum Schlecht, F. solani (Mart.) Sacc., the aphid Rhopalosiphoninus latysiphon Davidson and the mite Polyphagotarsenemus latus Banks. The distribution and relative importance of all pathogens and pests observed are given.
