A field trial was conducted on an alluvial soil of Patna (Bihar) to evolve balanced least cost combinations of fertilizer N and K for obtaining different tuber yield targets by working out response surface, ridgelines, isoquants and deriving the isocline. Profits were maximized by fertilizer application upto 263 kg N and 226 kg K/ha.
