Abstract

A wide variation was observed in growth behaviour of different potato genotypes with regard to their usable nodal cuttings for in vitro rapid multiplication of virus-free potato meri-clones upon varying concentration of the phyto hormones NAA/GA3 in the medium. Kufri Badshah, Pentland Ivory and Kufri Chandramukhi had maximum number of usable nodes when 0.15 mg/l NAA + 0.1 mg/l GA3 were supplemented to the medium ‘A’ (modified MS medium) in addition to kinetic 0.25 mg/l.
