Field studies were conducted in the mid hills at the Regional Research Station, Semiliguda during 1983 and 1984 and in plains at the Central Farm, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar during 1984–85 and 1985–86 to control the late blight disease of potato. The disease was controlled effectively by three sprayings of Dithane M-45 (0.2 per cent) at an interval of 15 days in plains and four sprayings at an interval of 10 days in mid hills starting from the first appearance of the disease with corresponding increase in yield of potato.
