Field trials were conducted to study the effect of certain fertilizer treatments on the uptake of S, Ca and Mg by cv. Kufri Chandramukhi at different stages of growth in sandy loam soil of Bangalore. Application of NPK fertilizers increased the uptake of S, Ca and Mg at various stages of growth and ranged from 7.84 to 14.61, 20.26 to 36.98 and 36.71 to 68.11 kg/ha, respectively, in different treatments. Their accumulation by haulms and roots declined with time, while tubers continued the accumulation. Tubers accounted for 66.8 to 73.9% total S, 18.1 to 23.7% total Ca and 54.2 to 59.6% total Mg removed by the plant.
