The assessment of a training course conducted by CPRI revealed that the total gain in knowledge over baseline was 25.8%. It was highest in Entomology (55.5), followed by Genetics (38.1%) and Social Sciences (30.5) and was minimum in Soil Science (8.7%). The knowledge gain was lowest when the information had no immediate practical utility or when the pre-training knowledge was more. The participants with Bachelor degree gained more (29.7%) as compared to those with Master's degree. As regard experience, in general, more the experience more was the gain in knowledge.
