Abstract

A path coefficient analysis for dry matter as dependent variable and starch, total phenols, total free amino acids and sugar contents as independent variables at 60th and 110th day of harvests was made. Starch exhibited the highest magnitude of the direct effects towards dry matter production in tubers at both the stages. Considerable positive indirect effect came through reducing sugars. Biochemical estimates were found to vary with the stages of the crop.
