Field experiments were conducted during 1979–80 and 1980–81 to study the response of potato to N, P and K fertilization on sandy loam alluvial soil. Significant increase in the potato tuber yield was found in both the years of investigation with the application of 120 kg N, 20 kg P and 80 kg K/ha. Responses on yield were significant due to interaction between the nutrients. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium dosage affected their respective uptake by potato crop. Maximum recovery of applied N, P and K was 42.0%, 12.5% and 45.75% with the optimum dose of 120 kg N, 20 kg P and 80 kg K/ha.
