Abstract

Field trials were conducted during 1984 and 1985 seasons at the Central Potato Research Station, Modipuram, Meerut to determine the response of potato varieties viz. Kufri Chandramukhi, Kufri Bahar, Kufri Badshah and Kufri Lalima to nitrogen. The resuhs showed that all the varieties recorded significant increase in tuber yield upto 160 kg N/ha, however, their control yields, reponses of aggregate yield and yield of different grades of tuben varied considerably. The control yields were 118.4, 152.3, and 181.6 q/ha in Kufri Chandramukhi, Kufri Bahar, Kufri Badshah and Kufri Lalima respectively, while the reponse due to application of 160 kg N/ha was 97.4, 121.6, 143.1 and 133.4 q/ha in the respective varieties.
