Abstract

The response of three potato varieties of different planting time showed wide variability in tuber development. The mean yields of three different planting times did not differ significantly but it varied within the varieties. Patrones seeems to be more responsive to early planting, Kufri Sindhuri to late planting and Cardinal to mid November planting. Early planting was found to bulk late and late planting was found to bulk early. The mid November was found to yield the highest but statistically similar to November 1 and November 30 plantings. Yields increased significantly upto 80 days in all varieties. Kufri, Sindhuri was the highest yielder followed by Cardinal and Patrones.
