Effect of nitrogen and organic manures on potato leaf composition was studied during 1980–83 in long term manurial cum rotational trial in alluvial soils of Jalandhar (Punjab) and also to find the relationship between leaf indices and yield of potato Cv. Kufri Chandramukhi. Application of organic manures and nitrogen significantly increased potato yield. Inclusion of organic manures in crop sequence increased N and P content in leaves. Nitrogen application significantly increased the N and P content in leaves by 29.6 and 29.5 per cent respectively. Significant correlation was observed between N and P content in leaves and tuber yield. Multiple regressions indicate that contribution of N was more towards potato yield than P.
