Abstract

Seedling tubers weighing upto 60 g were planted at different spacings depending upon their size in single and paired row system for raising a ware potato crop over two years. Per cent emergence, plant height and foliage weight increased with increase in seedling tuber size. Planting in paired row system increased foliage weight. Tuber number per plant and yield of total, marketable as well as large size tubers, increased with increase in seedling tuber size. Planting in paired row system increased tuber yield. All the sizes of seedling tubers, except less than 3 g, were statistically at par for total tuber yield, with the three commercial varieties compared.
