Colletotichrum coccodes (Wallr.) Huges, is reported to cause black dot of potato tubers in nature and infect potato tubers, stems and roots when artificially inoculated. Here the organism was observed to cause root rot, collar rot, and extensive foliar wilting. The organism also incited dry tuber rot in storage.
