Abstract

Tubers accounted for about 81.6 per cent of the total dry matter accumulated in the crop and utitized 81.1, 88.8 and 78.3 per cent, respectiveiy, of the total N,P,K-uptake. N, P and K consumption of crop per quintal tuber production was found to be 0.559, 0.058 and 1.093 kg, respectively. The most probable requirement of nitrogen in kg/ha for potato (Kufri Sindhuri) in any specific type of soil would be: (Maximum yield potentiality of the crop—control yield in quintal/ha) x 1.118.
