Phytotonic effect of some insecticides on potato plants

Carbofuran, quinalphos, phorate, aldicarb and ebuphos and a newly formulated carbofuran formulation viz., encecap carbofuran were evalualed on the growth of potato plants (Kufri Jyoti) in pot culture and field conditions. Pytotonic effects were quantified using various morphological growth parameters viz., DMP, LA, CGR, NAR, and LAI and yield attribules. Enceap, carbofuran and quinalphos treated plots exhibited significant phytotonic effect and well defined suppriority over other formulations tested. The order of efficacy was DMP - encecap carbofuran, ebuphos, aldicarb, quinalphos, phorate, carbofuran: LA - encecap carbofuran, quinalphos, aldicarb, ebuphos, phorate and carbofuran.
