The study was conducted to know the training nccds of farm women in potato. A village of Patna district, identified by the institute for ORP, was selected. A random sample of 41 farm women was selected. The field data was collected using well constructed interview schedule. Educated and age did not show a significant relationship with the inclination ror learning about new technologies where as the land under potato crop and the desire to learn seem to be related. For the activities performed by women, the highest mean score was obtained for field preparation, followed by selection of seeds, sowing, fertilizer application, harvesting and storage. Seed treatment and insect and pest control were lowest in ranking. The women had highest knowledge on harvesting and storage, followed by fertilizers and their application. Majority of the women did not know much about insect pest and their control. Further, a training programme on potato for women should primarily focus on selection of seeds, insect and pest control, fertilizer application and seed treatment. The optimum duration of training could be 3 days with 1–3 hours per day in the afternoons or evenings in the month of June or September.
