Abstract

Storability of advanced potato selecttons, viz. MS/79–10, MS/78–46, JI-5857, JI-1857, PJ-376, QB/A9–120, JN-1758 and cv. Kufri Chandramukhi (control) was studied from March to June in evaporatively (passive) cooled potato store-ECPS. The intensity of sprouts (g/kg tuber) was lowest in MS/79–10 and MS/78–46 in ECPS as well as at room temperature. Loss in weight of tubers was also low in these two selecttons both at 60 and 90 days of storage. Keeping quality in general was better in ECPS than at room temperature.
