Abstract

Area and production cost of seedling tubers from TPS can be reduced significantly by raising two successive crops of seedling tubers in autumn and spring seasons. The contribution for planting a unit area from autumn and spring produce of two years varied from 62.6% to 66.3% and 33.7% to 37.4%, respectively. The mean per cent cost of components for seedling tuber production in 100 sq. m area declined to 68.9% in spring over autumn season. Total and per cent marketable yield (>35 mm size) of all families except HPS-II/13 from seedling tubers of autumn and spring seasons were at par.
