Abstract

Newly released potato varieties, viz. Kufri Chipsona-1 and Kufri Chipsona-2 were found suitable for growing in the main crop season in the Malwa region of MP. They are likely to provide a choice of potato varieties to the processors who were till now depending on Kufri Jyoti and Kufri Lauvkar bred for table consumption. However, Kufri Jyoti being early in maturity is likely to remain major variety for early crop season despite of Kufri Chipsona-1 and 2 performing reasonably well in early crop season yet being late maturing.
