On the basis of performance in preliminary and confirmatory yield trials during the last four years, nine promising hybrids namely MS/91-1325, MS/92-1090, MS/92-3128, MS/92-2105, MS/92-3146, MS/93-209, MS/93-1344, MS/94-899 and MS/94-1118 developed at Modipuram Campus were introduced into All India Coordinated Potato Improvement Project (AICPIP) for multi-location trials. All hybrids are late blight resistant and possess desirable tuber characters, high productivity per unit area and good keeping quality under country store conditions. Some of these hybrids may replace the existing cultivars to meet future requirement of the farmers and can be fitted well in multiple cropping system.
