Abstract

Among the early and medium maturing potato varieties evaluated in Chhattisgarh state during three years (1994–95 to 1996–97), Kufri Chandramukhi in early and Kufri Pukhraj in the medium maturing group produced highest yield. Introduction/cultivation of these varieties is likely to enhance the productivity of potato from nearly 18 tonnes at present to 25–30 tonnes/ha, resulting in higher remuneration to the farmers particularly to those growing early potatoes, commanding premium price in the market.
