Abstract

Validation study of SUBSTOR POTATO model was done for ten Indian potato cultivars grown under short day conditions in plains of India. For various reasons inherent in the model regarding genetic coefficients responsible for simulation of phenological development and growth, the performance of the model was less than satisfactory. Model requires modification for short day conditions.
