Abstract

Significant increases in root mass, root volume and tuber yields of potato plant was obtained by treating seed potatoes with suspension of two plant growth promoting (PGP) Bacillus bioagents at 106 colony farming units (CFU)/ml. prior to planting in field. The bioagents tried were B. cereus B4 and B. subtilis B5. These strains colonized developing potato roots and remained predominant in plant rhizosphere soil for more than two months after planting.
