Abstract

Effect of calcium nitrate [Ca(NO3)2] on potato crop as foliar nutrient was evaluated in six cultivars and nine advanced hybrids under heat stress conditions of late planted crop in 1999–2000 at Modipuram. Results revealed that the impact of heat stress on potato growth and tuber yield can be partly mitigated by the foliar application of calcium nitrate. Cultivars/hybrids responded differentially to the calcium nutrition possibly due to differences in their potential for absorption or movement of the calcium.
