Abstract

The response of potato plants to root zone CO2 enrichment was studied at four CO2 concentrations. The morphological growth parameters showed little positive response to enhanced CO2 whereas the specific leaf weight and net assimilation rate showed positive response. The tuber yield, dry matter and the harvest index in general were also noticed to be high in the plants treated with CO2 concentrations in comparison with the control plants.
