Comparison of some traditional storage methods of potato

Storage behaviour of potato cvs. Kufri Chandramukhi, Kufri Badshah and Kufri Jawahar was studied during 1992–93 to 1994–95 during three months from 15^th March to 15^th June under four different storage methods at Deesa, Gujarat. The minimum weight loss was recorded in commercial cold storage method followed by Rustic cum Diffused light storage method. Heap and country store methods were found inferior for potato storage. The minimum tuber rottage and physiological loss was observed in cv. Kufri Chandramukhi followed by cv. Kufri Jawahar in all the four storage methods, while cv. Kufri Badshah had maximum weight loss.
