Observations on level of field resistance in six released and pre-realease varieties and 150 advance seedling clones derived from inter specific crosses of Solanum demissum were recorded under natural conditions of late blight epiphytotics at Shillong plateau. Out of these all but twenty five seedling clones were assessed for their field resistance to late blight. Twenty six seedling clones were identified as highly resistant and twenty seven as fairly resistant. Race 3, 4, 7 was found responsible for virulance in majority of varieties under study.
