Abstract

Twelve varieties including a few hybrids were planted in fileds on 10–15 November during three seasons (1972–73 to 1974–75) and their yield performances at 70 and 110 days after planting (DAP) have been reported. EM/B 859, C 65 and E 4960 yielded as much as Kufri Chandramukhi and were significantly superior to the local variety Burma. EM/B 81 and C 65 also recorded high tuber yields at 70 DAP and were superior to Kufri Chandramukhi in early bulking. All these varieties produced fair amount of seed sized (25–50 mm) tubers at 70 DAP.
