The effect of several antibiotics, Benlate and urea for suppression of potato purple top roll and marginal flavescence symptoms varied with the potato variety and the disease. Foliar sprays with BP alone or in combination with Tetracycline or Antiamoebin gave best results for augmenting the yield of PTR affected plants of varieties Kufri Jyoti and Kufri Lauvkar. The mixed spray of Tetracycline or Benlate was found equally effective for increasing thc yield of PTR affected plants. This mixture proved more effective than either of its components when applied singly.
