Abstract

Combining ability of andigena accessions was studied in line × tester (8 × 4) design for yield, tuber number, average tuber weight and per cent tuber dry matter in third clonal generation. Non-additive component was predominant in expression of these traits. Andigena parents JEX/A 30, JEX/A 805 and JEX/A 187 possessed good general combining ability for yield. Genotypes JEX/A 764 and JEX/A 804 were good general combiners for per cent tuber dry matter. JEX/A 30 X MS/89-1095, JEX/A 805 X MS/89-1095 and JEX/A 764 X Kufri Pukhraj were found to be promising cross combinations for yield.
