In a study of randomly selected potato germplasm accessions at Kufri (HP), sufficient variation in weeks to flowering, duration of flowering and pollen fertility was observed. Though large variation in pollen fertility was not observed in most of the accessions, increase and decrease in pollen fertility in a few accessions during one month of hybridization period indicated necessity for periodic checking of fertility for effective utilization of parents involved in hybridization programmes.
