The results of two year field experiment with five advanced potato hybrids selected in 1995 and three control varieties showed that hybrids MS/95-117 and MS/95-1309 gave 9-16 % higher marketable tuber yield over the best control Kufri Anand and 13% higher total tuber yield over the best control Kufri Pukhraj. Both the hybrids possess light yellow flesh, good keeping quality and field resistance to late blight. These hybrids have the potential to replace the present day popular variety of the region, Kufri Bahar.
