Genetic parameters and inter-trait associations were studied for six characters important to TPS production. Phenotypic as well as genotypic coefficients of variation, heritability (broad sense) and genetic advance were high for number of self-berries per plant and pollen fertility, moderate for flowering duration, flowering intensity and pollen quantity and low for weeks to flowering. Weeks to flowering had negative association with flowering duration and flowering intensity. Other characters, in general, had positive association with each other. The study suggested that except for weeks to flowering potential exists for the simultaneous genetic improvement for all characters important to TPS production.
