Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Potato Research Station, Kannauj, C.S.A. University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur, during 2001–02 to find out optimum planting density of TPS derived seedlings for producing seedling tubers in the nursery beds under central plain zone conditions. Out of different spacings, 25 × 10 cm spacing accommodating 40 seedlings/m2 produced highest yield of seedling tubers per square meter. Increasing plant population in unit area, significantly increased the tuber number but decreased the tuber weight eventually reducing the yield.
