Abstract

A potato growth model INFOCROP-POTATO was developed for subtropical conditions. It was calibrated and validated using experimental results from different sites and years. Cultivar-specific coefficients were derived for ten Indian cultivars during calibration. Validation based on several independent sets of field data, including different locations, years, cultivars, nitrogen and water treatments showed good agreement (R2=0.97; n=54) between observed and predicted values in normal range of tuber yield.
