Response of two potato cultivars to vermicompost and inorganic fertilizers

Abstract

Depending upon amount of NPK supplied through vermicompost, the production of seed size (25–75g) tubers increased by 3.5–8.8 and 3–9.2 percent and aggregate tuber yield reduced by 5.6–30.6 and 13.4–34.1 percent in Kufri Chipsona-1 and Kufri Anand, respectively. A combination of 25 and 75 percent of NPK through vermicompost and inorganic fertilizers produced 289.7 and 361.8 q/ha in Kufri Chipsona-1 and Kufri Anand, respectively and increased percentage of the seed size tubers.
