Abstract

Potato, rice and wheat cultivars were field tested during 1997–2001 at CPRI Campus, Modipuram farm in sandy loam soil to work out viable and stable rice-potato-wheat system. Medium maturing rice cv Saket-4 (69.6 q/ha) and late sown high yielding cv PBW-226 of wheat (41.8 q/ha) were found suitable for this sequence. Most suitable among potato cultivars (K. Pukhraj, K. Ashoka and K. Bahar) was cv K. Pukhraj yielding 214.1 and 269.6 q/ha at 70 and 80 days, respectively, due to its fast bulking genetic trail.
