Early potato cultivation in Hisar is facing serious jolt due to regular outbreak of potato apical leaf curl virus, On the basis of symptoms and disease severity, 0-5 scales were made and disease was quantified like other leaf spot diseases. Its infection brings about reduction in all plant parts including stems, Internodes and tubers. The most adverse effect was noticed in reduction in leaf area, height of plant and tuber yield/plant. From the data generated, a simple linear equation y = a × di was devised for assessing losses in tuber yield.
