Three-year field trials conducted during 1997–99 on the management of bacterial wilt of potato caused by Ralstonia solanacearum (Smith) Yabuuchi et al., revealed that potato planting after finger millet, followed by fall ploughing and pre planting application of bleaching powder (18 kg/ha.) to soil was very effective in disease control. Even this treatment minus bleaching powder was also effective in the control of the disease.
