Management of stem necrosis disease in early planted potato crop with varying fertilizer levels*

Both stem necrosis disease incidence and index were lowest when crop was not fertilized with inorganic fertilizers while it was highest when NPK was applied maximum @ 180 kg N, 80 kg P₂O₅ and 120 kg K₂O/ha in a study conducted at CPRS, Gwalior during four years i.e. 1997–98 to 2000–01. The maximum yields were also observed with the above NPK dose. However disease could be managed in a significant manner with judicious application of NPK @ 150 kg N, 60 kg P₂O₅ and 100 kg K₂O/ha.
