Four Phoma spp. viz. P. exigua, P. eupyrena, P. Sorghina and P. tropica were recorded for the first time in India and observed to incite new foliar diseases of potatoes characterised by leaf spots of different shapes and sizes, dark linear spots on stems and petioles, veinal necrosis, and rotting of upper part ofthe stems.
