Highest tuber production was recorded under 85% available soil moisture (ASM). An application of 180 kg N+120 kg P2O5/ha, was significantly superior over the lower levels. There was a positive interaction between the moisture regimes and fertilizer levels. No response of potatoes to potash was recorded. At 100 days, 85% ASM produced significantly higher percentage of large-sized tubers (above 2 cm dia.) as compared to lower moisture regimes. Significant increase in large-sized tubers (above 2 cm dia.) at 85 and 100 days, and tubers above 4 cm dia. at usual harvest was observed with increasing levels of nitrogen. Highest percentage of large-sized tubers was recorded at 100 kg N/ha Phosphorus application did not affect the percentage of the tuber production at any level of nitrogen.
