Abstract

A study on the chemical control of decay of cut tubers in autumn sowing was conducted for three years at Hissar. Out of the eighteen fungitoxicants tried, all except Blitox-50 improved germination as compared to control (cut tubers) Thiram and SBP (Stable bleaching powder) increased significantly the number of sprouts and the shoot weight in comparision to control. Comparing the effect on plant stand, tuber number and weight, Cuman-L, SBP and Cercobin proved better than rest of the fungitoxicants. All the treatments proved superior to control in checking the incidence of Early blight.
